Live an inspired life, a purposeful life, an uncluttered life- wisdom from Inspiration by Dr. Wayne Dyer

Live an inspired life, a purposeful life, an uncluttered life; wisdom from Inspiration by Dr. Wayne Dyer

I just finished watching Dr. Wayne Dyer’s presentation of his book, Inspiration, about living one’s life inspired and ON purpose.  If ever I have doubts whether there’s grace in the universe, today is not one of those days.  Why?  I attribute it to grace that without a coach, a guru, or a mentor for most of my life, I came to the conclusions and choices that Dr. D (as he’s known) advocates in his book for living an inspired life, a life ON purpose to fulfill one’s purpose.

He says there are a few things that are KEY:

  • Change your awareness of yourself.  Jung said one of the most important things you can do is to become aware of yourself.  I agree.  I have said this in many posts and in many places on my website as my work is built upon this principle.
  • Put your attention on what can be improved or changed rather than on what is wrong.  Maslow said this, I say this, and The Law of Attraction is based on this.
  • Allow time for quiet and contemplation.  There needs to be space for inspiration to enter and dwell.  A quiet mind is closest to god. Inspiration and guidance are often delivered in a soft voice; if your life is too loud or chaotic, you may not hear the soft voice.  (See part 2 of this post)
  • Motivation has to do with taking an idea all the way to completion.  Inspiration has to do with an idea taking YOU where you’re meant to go. You surrender to this; you trust it.  You allow yourself to be infused with this.  Your spirit is aligned with your desire and these are aligned with divine will and your individual will.  We are then moved into resourcefulness and creativity- we find the way and the means to get done what needs to be done along the way.  Obstacles are challenges not an excuse to give up or stop.

Through grace, guidance, etc., I have done these things and my life could not be more ON purpose or inspired.  I certainly did not expect or plan to wind up here.  I planned to be an architect, but being one didn’t mesh well with motherhood so I surrendered to inspiration and divine will and here I am.  Woo Hoo!!!  At times it’s felt like Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride (one of the scariest rides of my first trip to Disneyland as a small child), but when the ride concludes, you emerge in the sunlight and are no worse for the adventure, maybe even better.

Why live an inspired life? Patanjali said the reward for an inspired life is that your thoughts breaks free of their bounds, your mind transcends limitations, you enter the field of all possibilities, your consciousness expands in every direction, you find yourself in a great new world of god realization, and you discover yourself to be a greater person than you’d known.  While all of this is true, it’s not instantaneous; these things occur because of what you DO when you’re inspired and who you BECOME when you live an inspired life.

Dr. Dyer defines true nobility as being better than you used to be.

What you believe about money, income, debt, abundance, your potential,….. is RIGHT.

What you believe about money, income, debt, abundance, your potential,….. is RIGHT.

There’s an old adage that says, “Whether you believe you can or you believe you can’t, you’re right.” We convince ourselves of our futures before we take the actions that make them real. This is not news to the golfer who visualizes the ball dropping into the cup before the swing, or the artist who sees the completed painting before lifting a brush.

This is also the underlying feature of everything from Positive Psychology to “The Secret,” and the Law of Attraction, and it works on us every day. When we convince ourselves that everything is happening to us, and we’re nothing but a thistle-seed on the breeze of life, that becomes our experience. Our experience and our belief becomes reinforced as we prepare ourselves for that future, expect that future, and yes, take precisely the action steps that will lead to that future.

If everyone says “we’re in a recession,” we will make it so. If we constantly say the economy is bad, we will make it so. I’m not saying that we should ignore reality by any means, but that we look beyond the hand that we’re dealt, to the game we’re in. Playing a lousy hand well will take you further than playing a great hand badly. If we decide to make reality work, we can make reality work.

It is very difficult to observe the world around us, interpret from a defeatist position, and then promote a successful, winning perspective. The change has to start at the very beginning of this process. If we want to improve our situations, we need to do this from a position where we have power and control. To say “I can’t do xyz because the economy is bad,” is a total surrender to powerlessness. Turning this around starts with language shifts completely within our power.

First, the economy isn’t “bad.” The economy is going through corrections, adjustments, upheaval, or any of the other thousand descriptions that don’t include a value judgment definition.
Einstein said it is necessary to apply different thinking to solve the problems than the thinking that created the situation. Now you think, “how am I going to get past this?” We move from victim to problem solver just by shifting our internal dialogue. First we catch ourselves, then we interrupt the pattern, then we replace the victim language with the problem solver language. Difficult at first, but easier and easier with practice until you no longer even have to think about it. Success, now, is going to be about better problem solving, more creativity, more innovation.

Love, Money, Business, and The Law of Attraction

Love, Money, Business, and The Law of Attraction

With Valentines Day approaching, here are some thoughts about how love affects not only our relationships with people, but our relationship with money and success which is one of the main themes of the Thrivelocity blog and Money Mastery (my unique approach and method of helping you to improve your Inner Game of money, earn what you’re worth doing work that you love and fulfills your purpose). So, regardless of whether you have a human Valentine, this post is for you.

Love is the emotion of God and the Universe; and real love is an act of participation in the achievement of the fuller expression and expansion of all life. This is why we feel more alive when we are experiencing love in any form; and why our souls are drawn to these experiences- they are opportunities for the soul to learn, express, and become more free.

The word emotion can be broken down into two parts. E means to express and motion meaning movement. You’re expressing your soul through the movement of energy – vibration.

When we feel something, our bodies react by vibrating at the same frequency as that which we feel. The longer we stay involved with that feeling, the deeper it sinks into our subconscious until we become emotionally involved with it- at which time we vibrate mind, body and soul in harmony with our feelings which have now become emotions.
Your emotions cause you to express that energy as a vibration which seeks to harmonize with other objects, people, circumstances that are moving at the same frequency- The Law of Attraction in action. All energy chooses the path of least resistance and therefore seeks energy just like itself that won’t conflict and cause it to change. Your emotional energy will guide you to circumstances and opportunities that are a direct reflection of how you feel.

So, if you are in a state of real love (romantic love is not required here) what will become of your life? You will find yourself with abundance, happiness, success, and health because that would be the fuller expression and expansion of you. You’ll also do it in such a way as to cause others to join you as well as attracting relationships into your life that already harmonize with your mission of mutual benefit for all. What does this mean for your business? It means that true love is the corner stone to building both your client base and your income.

Recession, Napoleon Hill, The Law of Attraction, and Your Dreams

Recession, Napoleon Hill, The Law of Attraction, and Your Dreams

Is there a recession? Depends on your criteria and your perspective. Regardless, people make their own circumstances (and success) regardless of the economy or other circumstances. You can allow yourself to be scared by the doom and gloom in the news (……it’s going to be a looooong time before the economy recovers”) or you can choose to persevere with your dreams, your goals, and your intentions. Here’s a story about perseverance, hope and faith:

This infamous story told by Napoleon Hill in “Think and Grow Rich” told of the exploits of the uncle of R.U. Darby who, in the 1800’s, was caught up in the “Gold Fever” produced by the mass hysteria and hype of the gold rush days.

Many people had “Gold Fever” or the burning desire to strike it rich in the vast producing western United States. Word spread world wide of the gold strikes and people from far and near rushed in to make their fortune. The uncle of R.U. Darby was no exception and in fact was one of the few who stuck gold on his initial dig. His initial find was proven to be one of the richest and purest gold veins in Colorado. His challenge though, was raising enough capital to fund a full scale mining process. He went back to the east coast to raise capital from friends, family and investors. Once this was done, he raced back to his mine and purchased the equipment for the task at hand.

He began drilling on endlessly yet, as if by some mysterious stroke of bad luck, the vein of gold had disapeared. Soon, worry, doubt and discouragement took hold and in fear of going broke, he sold his equipment to a junk dealer for a few hundred dollars. He quit… just gave up. He never knew that if the desire was present, so was the gold.

The junk man called a mining engineer and asked him his opinion on the whole project. The engineer went to the mine, examined the situation and told the junk man that if he drilled just 3 feet from where the other man had stopped, he would re-enter the previously tapped rich vein of gold.

The junk man extracted millions of dollars of gold from that mine because he was not afraid to ask for advice, seek counsel, and then act on that advice. Whether he understood the the law or just had an intuitive knowledge of it, the fact is the principle worked and it will always work.

Some of us are stopping 3 feet from our own gold mine and a sure way to prevent that is to stop listening to those doubts and worries that sing their song of gloom in your head. There’s a lot of negativity out there in the world today because people choose to believe what they hear and not what the law insists upon: if the desire was present, so was the gold. This is a universal law! If you have a dream, a desire, an intention, it cannot exist without the means for its fruition to also exist! If you are able to maintain the feelings of desire, the feelings of the fruition experience of that dream or desire, and take all appropriate actions to bring about the desired outcome, there is every reason for you to succeed. If a voice in your head or in your life says otherwise, you may choose to disregard it. You may need coaching, support, and practice to do this effectively. Start with a media fast; stop consuming media. Focus instead on how it will feel to realize your dream.
