What you believe about money, income, debt, abundance, your potential,….. is RIGHT.

April 30, 2009 · 1 Comment

What you believe about money, income, debt, abundance, your potential,….. is RIGHT.

There’s an old adage that says, “Whether you believe you can or you believe you can’t, you’re right.” We convince ourselves of our futures before we take the actions that make them real. This is not news to the golfer who visualizes the ball dropping into the cup before the swing, or the artist who sees the completed painting before lifting a brush.

This is also the underlying feature of everything from Positive Psychology to “The Secret,” and the Law of Attraction, and it works on us every day. When we convince ourselves that everything is happening to us, and we’re nothing but a thistle-seed on the breeze of life, that becomes our experience. Our experience and our belief becomes reinforced as we prepare ourselves for that future, expect that future, and yes, take precisely the action steps that will lead to that future.

If everyone says “we’re in a recession,” we will make it so. If we constantly say the economy is bad, we will make it so. I’m not saying that we should ignore reality by any means, but that we look beyond the hand that we’re dealt, to the game we’re in. Playing a lousy hand well will take you further than playing a great hand badly. If we decide to make reality work, we can make reality work.

It is very difficult to observe the world around us, interpret from a defeatist position, and then promote a successful, winning perspective. The change has to start at the very beginning of this process. If we want to improve our situations, we need to do this from a position where we have power and control. To say “I can’t do xyz because the economy is bad,” is a total surrender to powerlessness. Turning this around starts with language shifts completely within our power.

First, the economy isn’t “bad.” The economy is going through corrections, adjustments, upheaval, or any of the other thousand descriptions that don’t include a value judgment definition.
Einstein said it is necessary to apply different thinking to solve the problems than the thinking that created the situation. Now you think, “how am I going to get past this?” We move from victim to problem solver just by shifting our internal dialogue. First we catch ourselves, then we interrupt the pattern, then we replace the victim language with the problem solver language. Difficult at first, but easier and easier with practice until you no longer even have to think about it. Success, now, is going to be about better problem solving, more creativity, more innovation.

The Science of Getting Rich, Part 3

The Science of Getting Rich

The Law of Gratitude

Gratitude is so important and powerful for myriad reasons
; here are a few:
Gratitude allows you to relate to Source, Spirit, God, Universe, whatever term you use for this, in a harmonious way and puts you in unity with the mind of god. This has enormously powerful repercussions. Your mind will be in closer alignment with the mind of god, with Creative Thought, and with the flow of abundance.
Gratitude keeps us from falling prey to competitive thought or thoughts of scarcity.
Gratitude attracts.
You cannot exercise much power without gratitude because gratitude keeps you connected with power. Ditto for happiness.
A grateful mind expects good things, has faith, attracts and receives good things. This serves to increase faith which increases attraction and receiving. You get the idea? Faith is another KEY.

Be grateful for whatever life presents you with. You may not be able to see or appreciate the perfection when what life presents you with appears negative, but it’s all part of your growth if you use it as such. Realize that you have received already; be grateful. Practice saying or writing ” I’m so happy and grateful now that ________”. Fill in the blank as many times as you can. Do this before you go to bed. Do it with your kids. Do it with your partner or spouse. Have a notebook or journal just for this. See how fast you can fill it up. Create a contest in your family or household to see who can fill theirs first. If you have difficulty getting started, go see Slumdog Millionaire. You may feel more grateful for what you have after seeing this film.

Do your best. Each of us will do our best when we are doing our Purpose.

The Science of Getting Rich, Part 2

THIS IS NOT A TIME TO PLAY A CONSERVATIVE GAME! THIS IS A TIME TO STEP UP AND PLAY A BIGGER GAME THAN EVER BEFORE.

Although these posts are about Wallace Wattles’ book, The Science of Getting Rich, I’m reminded of Warren Buffet’s advice: the best investment is the one you make in yourself! Investing in yourself may be a necessary part of being able to step up and play a bigger game than ever before. Most people will need some sort of support to be able to do this. Determine what sort of support you need and don’t hesitate to get it. Most of the calls I get from people interested in working with me are motivated by these people coming to the determination that without support for changing themselves, they will remain where they are, or worse, decline. David Neagle paraphrased Wallace Wattles’ Ch. 14 to explain why so many people are sinking so rapidly financially right now. It’s a much different perspective on these crazy times than you’ll find on the news.

Ch. 14 is all about The Impression of Increase which has to do with the way that spirit within each of us wants to express itself more and more fully. As a result, this energy will either propel you forward or backward depending on your orientation. (See now why I spent so much time in the last post on ways to anchor your orientation of choice?) You will not just stay put. Many people who think they can behave very conservatively and just stay put are finding that it’s not working very well.

The normal desire for increased wealth is a normal human desire for a more abundant life. People are attracted to the individuals that can give them more of the means to this. You are a creative center from which increase is given TO ALL. You are giving constant increase to yourself and to all with whom you deal. You need to convey this, with integrity and conviction, to all and make sure they receive this impression from you that you are an advancing person that you are spreading the wealth. This is KEY to the Impression of Increase and it’s attraction factor. Others will be attracted to you and your business because they will feel that in associating with you, they will experience increase themselves. Give all greater value than the cash value you receive from them. If you always do these things, your business will increase rapidly. You’ll be able to secure greater advantages and continue to spread the benefits.

Through all of this, hold onto your vision and your purpose. Lift others and bring them along. “What I want for myself, I want for everybody”. This line is in the book and it’s the same thought that motivated me to change professions and create Money Mastery and this blog!

stay tuned: next post: The Law of Gratitude. You really don’t want to miss this!

The current economy: fear, constriction, and dissociation OR a potent opportunity for discovery, growth, and transformation?

November 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The current economy: fear, constriction, and dissociation OR a potent opportunity for discovery, growth, and transformation?
We are powerless to change that which we lack conscious awareness of.
Given our current financial condition, it is time to explore both our personal and collective relationship with money more deeply.  Money can be a very powerful teacher of what we have yet to learn about who we are as human beings.

We all possess unconscious beliefs, patterns and behaviors around money that are largely unknown to us.  It is time to embark upon a deeper learning and integrate money into our spiritual work.  We created it, we made it powerful, and its movement in the world is a direct reflection of our consciousness. As we become increasingly more conscious of this aspect of ourselves, we can begin to co-create a more meaningful and sustainable experience with money and the world around us. The other reward we will receive for doing our personal money work, I believe, is access to the pure potentiality that money represents that will allow us to become more evolved and fulfilled in all areas of our lives. This potential is greater than we ever imagined possible.

It’s interesting to note that the early alchemists did not attempt to turn lead into gold for financial gain, they were seeking spiritual gain. Quite literally, the process of turning the darker, heavier metal of lead to gold was to raise one’s consciousness, not one’s wealth. The alchemists were seeking enlightenment. On the path of seeking spiritual truth, gold was merely a physical manifestation of their enlightenment.
Until we understand and transform our relationship with money and become the alchemists in our own lives, money will always be problematic. Seeking to possess it without understanding its true purpose and meaning in our lives will only leave us feeling more conflicted and unfulfilled. The journey is not about money. The journey is about truth and self-discovery, an archeological dig to the center of the truth of who we really are.
Now, more than ever before we are all being called to delve deeper into our spiritual journey. We must take action to create a world to that values human beings and our planet above profit. We need to trust that there is enough for everyone. Spirit will provide. We must resist the temptation to go into fear and constriction as there is nothing that can be gained by this. That is a trap that only stands to fulfill itself. Now is the time to release and let go of all that no longer serves us so that we can create the space to receive that which does.

What will be your first action in this direction?

Personal Freedom and Responsibility go Hand in Hand.

October 23, 2008 · 2 Comments

Personal freedom and responsibility go hand in hand.

The price for freedom is self-growth.

As with immigrants to this country, we must be willing to grow in a new environment in order to take full advantage of all it has to offer. We must be willing to stretch to break free of limits and constraints. As we well know, just because we are living in a place of ‘freedom’ it doesn’t necessarily mean we are safe and secure – how to be safe and secure is something else we must learn.

Just getting to the intellectual understanding or awareness that we may have those self-limiting barriers (or freedom, for that matter) is not enough. We must now DO something with that knowledge. Unfortunately, when ego rules the mind, we often find ourselves falling into the mindset that we don’t need to DO anything else … that we can simply hang out in this new freedom indefinitely and things will be different.

This mindset – this inaction – is so dangerous because personal freedom and responsibility go hand in hand.

This first “why I shouldn’t” line of thinking keeps you where you are and leads you down a false road. But the second line of thinking, the “why I should”, leads to more life and the true abundance of the universe.

Consider this question…

“Who did God place in your life as a guide, mentor, coach or teacher?”

If you can get yourself out of the way, that person can lead you to places you may never have even dreamed about. But the responsibility – the action – for beginning the journey is solely yours.

Money Coaching?!

May 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment

People often ask what a Money Coach is and is it the same as a financial advisor- actually, it’s not at all like a financial advisor. Money Coaching combines both practical financial guidance with sound psychological principles and universal spiritual beliefs to help transform your relationship with money and lead a more purposeful and prosperous life.

Through a step-by-step process, Money Coaching will guide you to a deeper understanding of unconscious beliefs and patterns that create stress, anxiety and fear and prevent you from having the life you desire.
A Money Coach gives you an opportunity to explore your unconscious patterns, beliefs, and behaviors around money. As these become conscious, one can transform their relationship to money and exercise conscious choice about anything and everything having to do with money. What would your life be like if money were not an issue?

Close your eyes for a minute <kinda tricky to read this and follow along with your eyes closed. hmmn, must add audio to this blog>, now take a deep breath and let it out slowly and imagine your life AFTER you’ve completely transformed your relationship to money. What does it look like? How does it FEEL? What’s different? Do you have work that you love that pays you what you believe you’re worth? Does your work relate to or fulfill your purpose in life? Are you debt-free? Are you managing your income such that you’re saving for things that are important to you and your future? Investing? Do you feel competent and confidant with regard to money, income, finances, spending, saving, and investing?

Money Coaching begins with a set of 4 sessions with an assignment to complete in between the sessions. This is the Core Money Coaching and is the same 4 sessions and same assignments for every client (their experience and personal discoveries will vary of course, but the format is the same). Many clients are so thrilled with the process and results that they continue on after the core work. The sessions then are customized around that clients needs and interests and leads them to the freedom to fulfill their purpose and to live the life they choose for themselves.

My aim is to serve people (who are spiritually oriented toward self-actualization as well as serving humanity, nature, and the divine in significant ways) by supporting and guiding them to continually increase their awareness, transform their consciousness, and expand their capacity and intention to clear the way to their self-actualization, fulfilling their purpose, and living balanced joyful lives. My aim is to coach these people to live and work with ease, flow, delight, abundance, and success and to leave behind a new legacy for freedom and fulfillment.

In addition to being Certified as a Money Coach, I am also Certified as a Results Coach, an NLP Master Practitioner and Trainer, and Ericksonian Hypnotherapist. I weave quantum tools for accelerated change into my coaching work. The work is very graceful yet quite powerful and effective. A highly motivated person can transform their beliefs and create new habits quite quickly. The NLP and Hypnotherapy facilitate the rapid creation of new neural pathways for new beliefs and behaviors.
